All year round, Prospect Park canines tug their owners down the paths to the small lake with the concrete landing known as Dog Beach. The beach closes in winter, but that never seems to stop the dogs from trying to check it out—must be lots of happy swim memories there. I came across this wonderful fellow and his owner a few snowstorms back. He appeared quite reserved in a standard poodle kind of way, even though I had observed him making a rather undignified dog angel in the snow about five minutes earlier.
This curved path, viewed at the top by the Ninth Street Bandshell, has a nice vista of the lake and beach at the end. The temporary rattan fence is not that attractive, but it worked to pull the composition together for the panorama. I’ve been studying the winter landscape…
